Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Arsenal – Premier League – 7th February 2015

Spurs’ man of the moment Harry Kane was the match-winner against Arsenal on Saturday, with his two goals securing a derby victory for the hosts against a lacklustre Arsenal, who were without Alexis Sanchez.

The Gunners had taken the lead in the first-half, courtesy of a cool Mesut Ozil finish, which was the German’s thrid goal in three games for the north Londoners.  However, Arsene Wenger’s side failed to build on that opened as Tottenham started to dominate proceedings. Both Kane goals came in the second-half, first from close-range after David Ospina had palmed away a shot and then, late on, when he rose superbly to head home from a Nabil Bentaleb centre.

The victory, which was thoroughly deserved, sees the Lilywhites leapfrog the Gunners into fourth (at least before the 3pm games), a point ahead of the north Londoners.

  1. Jarren says:

Spur’s best chance (and probably only chance) of holding on to Kane after this summer is that he’s a boyhood fan.

Every top club in Europe will be after him.

They mentioned on MOTD about him being picked in the first team for England, and I see no issue with that (even given his age).

England are looking at a new Shearer. But will he stay in England for his club career?
