Stoke City pull out of move for David James

David ‘The Cat’ James resorts to washing his kit in the only way he knows how
The ‘BREAKING NEWS’ ticker on Sky Sports News has farted into action this afternoon to confirm that Stoke City have pulled out of their shock loan move for Portsmouth goalkeeper David James.
A dispute over who was going to pay the veteran keepers wages (Pompey were desperate to alleviate James’ £40,000-a-week pay packet from their crippling outgoings) and the fact that negotiations had gone on longer than Stoke’s self-imposed Friday morning deadline are being cited as the reasons for the switch failing to go through.
Potter’s manager Tony Pulis was hoping to wrap up a deal to bring the England stopper to the club in time to face his former club Liverpool on Sunday but it now seems that the transfer is dead in the water.
