Arsenal Propose 50% Pay Cut To William Gallas

Arsenal are set to ask ‘veteran’ defender William Gallas to take a massive pay cut in order to remain at the club.

The 32-year-old centre-back’s current contract with The Gunners expires in July and negotiations over a new deal are at a standstill, due to the club’s policy of only offering players over 30 twelve-month extensions.

Gallas is pushing for a two year deal and Arsenal are reportedly now willing to make an exception for the Frenchman, with one proviso – He has to agree to a 50% pay cut, which would see his weekly wages halved from £80,000 to only £40,000. Poor lamb.

It’s not all fiscal doom and gloom though, as Gallas will also receive a £500,000 bonus when he enters the final year of the deal.

Should ‘Old Bill’ reject this proposal – as I’m sure he will – AC Milan, Roma, Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille are all known to be waiting in the wings to snap him up on a free transfer.

fuck that. he should move to another club who wil pay him right.

  2. Jesus says:

I wouldn’t be so sure of him rejecting the contract Chris. Think there’s a fair chance of him taking it.

If not, seems like he’s off to either Roma or PSG.

  3. Paul says:

I think they should maybe pay him a bit more per week, but only when he’s not injured!

if the story is true, it really show how ungrateful clubs can be, this is why i never blame good players holding clubs like Arsenal to ransom, this year gallas has been very outstanding, to pay him back in this way is very unacceptable, 80,000 is nothing to a player like gallas in a first grade club like Arsenal, i hope he reject that contract, let see who they will bring in to replace him. am sure they will regret again as they have always done

I am a die-hard Arsenal fan and I find this story very incredible but just in case it is true, then it is very ridiculous. Gallas does not deserve this kin of treatment. Think twice, Arsene.

AC Milan to get a player over 30…. that’s good, they need some players with experience!
