Arsene Wenger is eyeing a big-money summer move for Man City’s James Milner, according to The Sun.

The England midfielder is out of contract at the Etihad this summer and is said to be keen on a move to the Emirates. However, the 29-year-old has already made it clear to the Gunners that he’ll only make the move if he’s offered a four-year-deal, which is longer than the deal City have put on the table for the versatile grafter.

While Francis Coquelin has blossomed in a defensive midfield role this year, the Gunners need options in that position, with Mikel Arteta getting on a bit and Mathieu Flamini headed for the exit door. Milner, who is comfortable in a deep-lying midfield role, would offer the north Londoners an all-action, physical presence in the centre of the park along with a shed-load of experience.

Liverpool have also been linked to Milner and if he can’t agree a deal with Arsenal then Brendan Rodgers will be in pole position to land the Man City man. Watch this space!
