River Plate Given Incredible Reception By 50,000-Strong El Monumental Crowd Before Superclasico vs Boca Juniors (Photos & Video)

We think the welcome that the River Plate team received from their 50,000-strong home crowd at the Estadio Monumental before Sunday’s ‘Superclasico’ game against Boca Juniors at the weekend could best be described as ‘rapturous’ (click through for the full-sized images)…

The Superclasico itself ended 2-2, with Boca leaving it fashionably late to come from 2-0 down, scoring twice in the last 15 minutes – the second coming in injury time – to salvage a draw from the jaws of defeat.

   Fans in England should take note. The point of singing and chanting and having a reception like this is to pump up the players. all you guys do in your chants is insult the other team because you guys seem to be obsessed over that and saying a player “scores when he wants”
