This Visualisation Of Global Twitter Activity During Spain vs Chile Game Is Beautifully Hypnotic (Video)

By Chris Wright

Thanks to the good chaps over at Project Babb, we can bring you these wonderfully swish visualisations of global Twitter activity during last night’s game between Chile and Spain.

Using geo-tagged Tweets to map the intensity of Twitter use across the world during the match, they’re beautifully hypnotic – yet also make it look ever so slightly like a really pretty nuclear apocalypse has beset the Earth…

Here’s the Australia vs Holland version – equally hypnotic; equally apocalyptic…

How lovely.

Meanwhile, in Canada we were actually watching the game, not staring into the twitter-abyss. Ah, who am I kidding? “When does the hockey season start?”

    Man, I already miss hockey
