Spotted during Saturday’s League Two game between Northampton and Barnet: a stunning and heartfelt tribute to legendary Zaire defender Mwepu Ilunga, as performed by Barnet defender Gavin Hoyte…

Touching,  truly touching – and on the eight-month anniversary of Ilunga’s passing too. Beautiful stuff.

Lest we forget…

You just can’t beat a bit of vigilante freekick defending.

Not sure, the player over the ball removes his foot after the whistle goes. Surely this counts as a touch, thus the ball is now in play?

He took a touch but the ball didn’t really move. The game starts as soon as the ball moves ( I think)

It was a stupid routine anyway

  2. Thumbwhistler says:

It was Andy Yiadom who ran out, not Gavin Hoyte as widely reported. Hoyte is doing his bits on Twitter!
