With the start of the 2018 World Cup now just 31 sleeps away, ITV have sought to wet their prospective audience’s whistle with a leading teaser advert.
The ad contains all the usual World Cup tropes – which is absolutely fine by Pies – as well as a few clever little inventive flourishes to symbolise incidents and occurrences at tournaments past…
Pretty decent, no? Stirring without resorting to all that hackneyed old ‘En-ger-lund’ rubbish.
Don’t forget that Gary Neville has signed on with ITV for the duration too, which should hopefully bump one of their lesser pundits out of the bottom end.
It’s beginning to creep in, isn’t it? The World Cup-mania. That sweet spot before absolutely everything everywhere is saturated by it for two months straight.
