Everton 1-0 Manchester United – Premier League – 20 August 2012
“Hey, ‘little boy inside me’, you’re getting a right kicking when we get home”
While man of the moment Robin Van Persie was watching from the United subs bench, the afro-tastic Marouane Fellaini was giving a virtuoso performance in the heart of the Everton midfield at Goodison on Monday night. The Belgian midfield dynamo even topped off his superb performance with the match-winning goal, heading home on 57 minutes to secure a shock victory for David Moyes’ Toffees.
Phil Jagielka did clear a Tom Cleverley shot off the line but it’s probably fair to say that the home side deserved the victory. Even the late introduction of £24million man Van Persie couldn’t save the night for United, who couldn’t find a way past Jagielka and Sylvain Distin.
Now, Fergie, you’re looking for a new Paul Scholes? And you may need a defensive midfielder? Well, get your cheque-book out and sign Fellaini. The boy can do it all. And he has ace hair
