Quite unbeknownst to anybody, Everton and Southampton played each other in the third round of the League/EFL/Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, with the latter eventually emerging victorious.
Danny Ings put the Saints ahead at Goodison just a few minutes before half-time before Theo Walcott restored parity in the 85th minute, meaning the tie went to penalties.
Everything was going swimmingly, with all takers dispatching their penalties, right up until Richarlison stepped forth to take the Toffees’ third kick of the shootout.
It was at this point the Brazilian forward preened himself, committed to a faddy stuttering run up and then pulled this stylish little corker out of the bag…

Cedric Soares eventually netted the decisive spot-kick to secure a 4-3 shootout win for the travelling side.
We’ve said it before and we’ll doubtlessly say it again: Often sloppy touch, lapse concentration, composure and decision making, style over substance. He’s okay, but there’s no way is this Richarlison kid is a £50million player.
No flippin’ way, we tells ye.
