Cast your eyes over England’s 30-man provisional squad for the 2010 World Cup:
GKs – Joe Hart, David James, Rob Green
DFs – Leighton Baines, Jamie Carragher, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Rio Ferdinand, Glen Johnson, Ledley King, John Terry, Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock
MFs – Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Tom Huddlestone, Adam Johnson, Frank Lampard, Aaron Lennon, James Milner, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Shaun Wright-Phillips
FWDs – Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, Wayne Rooney
First thoughts: Carragher has done his U-turn, then – I can only presume if he’s made it this far, he’ll also make it into the 23. Good to see Scott Parker and Tom Huddlestone recognised for their fine form. SWP, hmmm, no thanks. Bent above Zamora. Heskey still very much in the England club. Despite earlier reports, no room for Owen Hargreaves, whilst Barry is given a chance to prove his fitness. Glad to see Joe Cole on the longlist too – he has too much talent to be ignored. Oh, and no Phil Jagielka either.
What do you think of the 30?
