Transfer Balls: Rounding up the day’s football tittle-tattle so you don’t have to…

Tottenham Yearn For Young

Tottenham’s quest for a winger now sees them eyeing a move for Ashley Young, according to the Mirror. Mauricio Pochettino is desperate for some more power on the flanks, with Andros Townsend likely to leave White Hart Lane.

Spurs had wanted Crystal Palace wideman Yannock Bolasie but the Eagles are eager to hold on to the 26-year-old. As for Young, one really wonders if Louis Van Gaal would let the former Aston Villa man go after an impressive 14/15 campaign.

PSG Bid £28.5m For Di Maria

The Guardian tells us that PSG have registered a bid of £28.5million for Angel Di Maria. The Manchester United winger is eager for a move away from Old Trafford after a disappointing first season in the Premier League. Ligue 1 champs PSG are the Argentine’s likely destination, but United want the French side to up their bid.

Considering Di Maria cost the Red Devils £59.7million last summer, Ed Woodward and co. are eager to recoup as much of that outlay as possible, although a deal does seem somewhat inevitable at this stage.

Chelsea Chase Telles

Taking time off from his annual bitch-fest, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is readying a bid for Galatasaray left-back Alex Telles, according to the Telegraph. The 22-year-old Brazilian would cost the Blues £7million, somewhat less than the asking price for Chelsea’s other left-back target, Augsburg’s Abdul Baba Rahma, who has a £15million price-tag.

With Felipe Luis gone back to Atletico Madrid, the Blues need cover for Cesar Azpilicueta, although which player actual moves to Stamford Bridge remains to be seen.

Hammers Set Sights On Sow

The Express tells us that West Ham are closing in on Senegalese striker Moussa Sow. The 25-year-old Fenerbahce hitman has netted 59 goals in 143 games for the Turkish giants and is wanted by Hammers’ boss Slaven Bilic to beef up his attack.

The arrival of Robin Van Persie at Fenerbahce has put the pressure on Sow and the Hammers are ready to stump up £12million for the forward. However, Sunderland are also thought to be interested in the former Lille star.
