A plucky Leicester City fan is seeking to pay homage to Jamie Vardy and his superb 2015/16 campaign by naming his newborn daughter after the Foxes hero.
However, for Ashley Marriott, there is still one obstacle to overcome – namely, his altogether more sensible girlfriend Daisy.
Thankfully, our friend Ashley had the presence of mind to launch a petition in order to convince his reluctant partner that naming their unborn baby girl ‘Vardy’ was and is a terrific idea.
Indeed, the petition went live on OnChange.org a week ago…
Since then, the petition has only attracted 120 signatures, but Ashley and Daisy aren’t expecting their little bundle of joy to arrive until mid-June – thus giving him four months to collect the 5,000 signatures he needs to pull off his masterplan.
We can only imagine that Daisy is positively thrilled at the prospect.
