Stand by your beds, this is not a drill. MARCA are going big with the news that Real Madrid are about to shatter the world transfer record to sign Kylian Mbappe.

The Madrid-based paper are claiming that Real have had an eye-watering €180million offer accepted by Monaco “in principle” – that’s €160million up front, with a further €20million made up in various bonuses.

Once the last remaining details are resolved, the young French footballer will sign for six seasons, each of which will (earn him) about €7million net.

Just a few days ago, Monaco were threatening to report Mbappe’s various suitors to FIFA for using back channels to contact the 18-year-old.

Now, after a week of above-the-table negotiations with Real, they’re preparing to sell their most prized asset.

Should the deal go through at the aforementioned price, the Ligue 1 side will stand to reap a bewildering £300million in transfer fees over the course of two months.

They cobbled together a fabulously bright young side, got one season of joy out of them and then unceremoniously dismantled the squad for a huge profit.
