Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has effectively ruled out a move to the Premier League after admitting that he couldn’t bear the weather – which sounds slightly strange considering that fact that he’s Swedish.
Speculation over the 28-year-old’s future has been intense since Barca confirmed the €40 million capture of David Villa last week and Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been linked with a move for the former Inter target man.
However, it seems that ‘Ibragoal’ has little desire to switch sunny Catalonia for the slate-grey skies of Blighty any time soon;
“[A move to] England doesn’t feel close. I don’t like rain,” Ibrahimovic told Swedish lifestyle magazine Cafe.
The forward also ruled out a return to Sweden at any point during the remainder of his playing career;
“Football will always be in my heart, it is a part of me, but I will not make any guest appearances in the Allsvenka [Swedish league]. Not as an active player at least. Maybe I can contribute my knowledge to Swedish football in some other way.”
