Salomon Rondon scored an absolute stunner during West Brom’s FA Cup fifth-round clash with Southampton at the Hawthorns.
The wonder-strike came just before the hour-mark, with the Baggies already 2-0 down, courtesy of goals from Wesley Hoedt and Dusan Tadic, with the second of those goals coming just two minutes before Rondon’s effort.
Latching onto a long pass from Grzegorz Krychowiak, Venezuelan striker Rondon unleashed a magnificent first-time left-footed volley which rocketed into the back of the Southampton goal
Shades of Robin Van Persie there!
Alas, for Rondon and co., they couldn’t get another, with Saints winning the game and moving into the quarter-finals.
While Rondon’s goal was magnificent, it couldn’t help ease the pressure on West Brom boss Alan Pardew, as his team continue to misfire on the pitch and misbehave off it.
