Dijon did a bit of a number on Saint-Etienne in the Coupe de France on Wednesday evening, with that number being a large, emphatic ‘SIX’.
The visitors gave their hosts a pasting to reach the quarter-finals, winning 6-3 on a bitter night at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
The match also proved particularly memorable for Dijon midfielder Naim Sliti, who racked up a lesser-spotted double hat-trick.
Indeed, not only did the 26-year-old Tunisia international score three goals himself, he also provided all three assists for Dijon’s other goals too.
The club were quick to herald Sliti’s impressive contribution after the final whistle, commending their attacker on his “stratospheric” man-of-the-match performance.
Le grand monsieur de ce soir Naïm #Sliti : 3 buts, 3 passes décisives.
