Arthur Masuaku saw red for spitting at Nick Powell during West Ham’s FA Cup fifth round clash with Wigan , with the Hammers suffering a shock 2-0 defeat at the DW Stadium.
The red card came early in the second-half, with French full-back Masuaku directing a spit at Powell after a rather innocuous challenge from the Wigan midfielder.
The dirty bugger.
The Premier League side were already a goal down before the sending-off, with Will Grigg netting after just seven minutes.
West Ham were poor throughout against the impressive League One leaders and down to 10 men, they couldn’t get themselves back into the game.
Grigg would eventually seal the deal just after the hour-mark, with the Northern Irish striker converting a penalty after Reece Burke was rather harshly judged to have handled the ball in the box.
The game would end 2-0 to the hosts, who were the better side throughout the encounter.
As for David Moyes and co., after that feeble performance, they can at least get back to focusing on the Premier League while Masuaku will no doubt face a lengthy ban.
