The Community Shield came and went this afternoon with Arsenal beating Chelsea 1-0 in the 2015/16 Premier League curtain jerker.

With the ubiquitous Mourinho/Wenger friction hanging heavy in the Wembley air once again, it was the Blues manager that provided the pantomime antagonism by pointedly snubbing a hand-shake with his Arsenal counterpart after the trophy had been lifted.

Mourinho stood at the foot of the stairs and made a point of shaking the hand of every single member of the victorious Arsenal team as they passed.

All except one…

The Chelsea boss then moseyed off down the tunnel but not before chucking his runner-up medal into the crowd.

What a tart!

If one watches the video, it’s also rather clear that Wenger understandably preferred not to shake his hand either, no? Managers behaving like children.

  2. Alex says:

Mourinho is such a wa*ker it’s almost funny. Now we know he is a sore looser too. Well done to Arsenal.

  3. kola says:

mourinho is too proud.he should change his way

  4. Bill says:

Jose shakes all the hands and as he shakes hands with the last player, Wenger purposefully walks behind him & before Jose has finished congratulating the player it’s clear Wenger has gone behind past him …….watch again and you’ll see Jose was not at fault.

  5. bob says:

You can bet that by the time this comment gets published Mourinho is already planning for the opening game of the defence of the league title, whilst Arsenal will no doubt be celebrating winning this game for a day or two. (Wenger now has a 7% win rate over Mourinho, but Mourinho will still get the better of him in the games that really matter).

  6. Matt says:

Both as bad as each other. Poor example for youngsters.

  7. Wynton says:

The footage shows clearly that Wenger deliberately decided to walk past Mourinho’s back to also avoid a handshake himself.

  8. FTWPhil says:

Jose has great peripheral vision, and probably noticed Arsene spitting on his hand. Wenger noticed Jose’s attention to his actions, and went for a wet willy. Thus Jose turned against the flow of the line to eliminate the threat of a soggy Frenchman’s finger in his ear.

  9. Jacques says:

I don’t understand why, just because you’re in the public eye, you have to like everyone around you. In the real world people snub people that have been rude to them everyday in awkward lift rides but just because they’re on camera they have to not be normal humans.

  10. Sultan says:

    Chelsea just got cechmated

    Jaques. It’s called professional courtesy.

Sorry, but this story is all wrong. Wenger clearly walks behind Mourinho. Poor journalism.

  12. Tellitasitis says:

Hahaha, Jose is such a muppet. Why would he wait at the bottom of the stairs to shake everyones hands? Because he wanted to write his own headline again. Arsene just made Jose look like a fool again.
