A superb solo effort from Belgian attacker Kevin Mirallas illuminated a rather dour affair at Goodison Park on Saturday and kept the Toffees in the hunt for a place in Europe.
Stoke’s games this season have been lacking in goals and this clash was no different, with neither side really getting into their stride.
Mirallas’ wonder-goal came on 28 minutes but only after Irish striker Jonathan Walters had hit the woodwork. However, while the Potters pushed for an equaliser after he break, they couldn’t make the breakthrough.
David Moyes’ men stay sixth, just two points behind Arsenal, while Tony Puli’s Potters are now just four points above the drop-zone.
