Currently slumming it down in 14th place in the Premier League pile having won just two of their last 13 league games, Everton are hovering just six points above the dotted line of doom coming into today’s game against second-bottom QPR.

In the knowledge that they’ll probably wind up safe on account of there being three worse teams underneath them, most Toffees supporters are seemingly willing to write this season off as a mulligan while Roberto Martinez continues to re-jig the Everton side.

However, it would seem that one rogue fan has had quite enough of the malaise.

Quite enough, it would appear, that he was willing to desecrate the walls of the club’s stadium with a can of white spray-paint over the weekend just to get his knee-jerky point across…

In summary, an unhealthily high quota of football fans are complete berks.

I’m not sure that this is a knee-jerk reaction. He’s shown no indication that he’s capable of moving this club forward.

And “unhealthily high quota” of one lone individual with a can of spray paint, to be precise.

A win over relegation-rivals QPR was huge. Lose that game and it would probably be curtains for Everton as the slump would not change. That 3 points puts the club a few more points away from safety with 9 games to go. Just about ‘job done’ for this disasterous season. So long as Martinez keeps the club up this season I think he deserves (and no doubt will get) at least a half season to put things right next year. If he can advance the team and get the club back to challening for the top 5/6 places by christmas, he should stay. If its a repeat of this season, changes will need to be made.
