Beating the likes of Ross Barkley and Kevin Mirallas in the running, Everton’s Goal of the Month award has been won by the slightly unlikely figure of nine-year-old fan George Shaw.

George, who has cerebral palsy, was invited to the recent home game against Swansea as a VIP guest of his favourite Toffees player, Gerard Deulofeu.

As such, the youngster was invited out onto the Goodison pitch at half-time to realise his dream of banging one in at the Gwladys Street End…

Everton went on to lose 2-1 on the day as sadly George’s half-time consolation goal wasn’t allowed to stand.

However, he can take solace in the fact that his stunning strike has now seen him officially bestowed with the Goal of the Month award for January after garnering a massive 86% of the online poll – thus earning him an invite to the club’s end of season awards gala in May.

Top stuff.
