Everton 2-0 Manchester United – Premier League – 20th April 2014

David Moyes endured a disappointed return to his old Everton stomping ground, seeing his poor United side lose by two goals to nil. The Toffees were the better side throughout and went ahead after Phil Jones handled Romelu Lukaku’s goal-bound effort. Leighton Baines converted the resulting spot-kick while Kevin Mirallas added a second just before the break.

In the second period, the visitors rarely threatened while the Goodison crowd gave poor old Moyesy quite the hostile reception. Maybe Roberto Martinez should have been Manchester United’s first choice ahead of Moyes?

Everton stay a point behind fourth-placed Arsenal while the Red Devils are seventh, 12 points behind the Toffees.

Is it incorrect to think that, Wayne Rooney and RvP aside, Moyes had a stronger side at Everton? Last season looks like more of a fluke with each passing week. Who in that Man Utd team are opposing players going to fear? Carrick? Nani?

    MUFC’s league record against the top eight so far this season? P13 W1 D4 L8 F7 A22.

Moyes has managed to lose the dressing room, except for Fellaini and Mata…..His training methods, tactics, player assessments, substitutions and preparations have simply all been a debilitating to the team and the club. He is chasing top targets who simply will not come, whilst he is there. And why is he paying another 37 million for Cavaliho ,who is NOT a top player yet.And what a load of bilge he spoke after today’s match….The man is deluded…….

I won’t be paying good money to keep the so called stars of United living like lords when they are playing rubbish football as for the man in charge he should leave before he gets the boot so until he goes I won’t be at any more games

  5. Jarren says:

The score was 2-0, Alan, not 2-1

  6. Straight Dave says:
