After nabbing the ball from a dilly-dallying Chicago Fire defender and slotting his shot past the ‘keeper to open the scoring, Sporting KC forward Dom Dwyer went and got himself booked during his celebration – though not for any of the usual heinous post-goal crimes; removing one’s shirt, leaping into the front row, etc, etc.
Instead, Dwyer swiftly located a strategically-placed phone which he’d left with one of the pitch-side photographers and duly took a celebratory selfie in front of the KC fans behind the goal…

However, the referee was unimpressed by Dwyer’s eagerness to include props in his celebration and swiftly booked the striker for his over-elaborate shtick – the big spoilsport.
