A moment of individual brilliance from Sofiane Boufal lit up an otherwise feeble encounter between Southampton and West Brom at St. Mary’s.
With the game headed towards a turgid stalemate, the Moroccan midfielder picked up the ball deep in his own-half, before embarking on a solo dribble the full length of the pitch.
As the Baggies’ backline backed off, Boufal raced into the box before producing a measured finish past Ben Foster.
That magnificent effort would (deservedly) seal the win for Mauricio Pellegrino’s side, despite their uninspiring display overall.
Southampton go 10th with Tony Pulis and West Brom two places and two points further back.
