Saturday marked the first match at Rotherham United since the untimely death of one of their most well known and well loved celebrity fans, Barry Chuckle (right, above).
Along with brother Paul, Barry was honorary life president of the Millers, but sadly passed away last week at the age of 73.
So, in a heart-warming show of mutual celebration, both Rotherham and travelling Ipswich fans joined forces during the game to exchange chants of ‘To Me, To You’ – one of the Chuckle Brothers most enduring catchphrases…
All this after a minute’s silence was observed before kick-off.
Speaking on Twitter after the final whistle, Paul Chuckle thanked both sets of supporters for their brilliant tribute to his late brother…
A big kiss to all the Tractor boys for this afternoons tribute to my beautiful brother Barry #ipswichtown #aplause #heartbreak xx

Here’s a segment from an episode of ‘Look North’ in the early 2000s during which the Chuckle Brothers reveal their love for Rotherham, and reminisce about going together to watch their team as kids, while actually kicking a ball about on the hallowed pitch…
Proper celebrity fans.
