Lionel Messi Finally Gets Act Together At Copa America, Argentina Whomp Costa Rica 3-0 (Video)
By Chris Wright
Largely due to the fact that he’s probably tatered, Lionel Messi’s performances at the Copa America have been a little off-colour so far, with pint-sized mopey tantrums here and free-kicks hoofed into the ionosphere there.
However, Messi finally pulled his finger out and got his act together in time for Argentina’s comfortable 3-0 win over Costa Rica (who, in fairness, fielded a ‘developmental’ U23 side) last night – playing a part in almost every wave of attack and providing two assists as Sergio Aguero (2) and Angel Di Maria netted for the Albiceleste…
Things must be looking up, as wee Leo even cracked a smile for the first time in a fortnight…
…sort of.
For the record, the victory over Costa Rica ensured that Argentina will go through from Group A and into the quarter-finals along with group-winners Colombia.

Is that the real Gonzalo Higuain? What the..
I really hope he’s still unfit or something because Kun Kun may start to eclipse him on the international stage, some poor finishes there.
Big shout out to Diego Milito, Carlos Tevez and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
did higuain forget that he scores every goal by hitting it low to the back post?
Did Argentina forget they were playing a largely U-23 squad?
I would hope that Messi got his act together here. No offense to Argentina, but I think that even my Sunday league team could beat a (basically) U-22 Costa Rica squad.
Is Aguero playing first-team now? It may seem bold to say this but he’s one of the best finishers in the world right now.
