Sunderland 1-1 Everton – Premier League – 9th November 2014
Everton had to work hard for a draw against Sunderland on Sunday, in a game which saw Gareth Barry taken to hospital with a serious anjle injury.
Seb Larsson had opened the scoring on 67 minutes, courtesy of a free-kick, after both sides had gone close on a couple of occasions. However, the Black Cats’ joy was shortlived, with Leighton Baines converting a spot-kick after Seamus Coleman was felled in the box. Overall, a draw was probably a fair result.
Gus Poyet’s Sunderland go 14th while the Toffees are 10th.
