Today is a sad, sad day for that special breed of football fan that enjoys nothing more than venturing down to their club’s training ground and waggling various things about for 12 hours straight of an evening.
According to several sources, Sky Sports News are to put an end to supporters crowding behind their front line reporters on transfer deadline day in a bid to curb the festering, feral circus of bullshit that they themselves transformed the whole thing it into.
As the Telegraph report, SSN reporters will instead pre-record their segments rather than report live from wherever they may find themselves.
“Other reporters will be given the sanctuary of inside the grounds to reveal their news, no longer fearing the worse whenever the camera is pointed in their direction.”
This all comes after Sky Sports got into a spot of bother with Ofcom back in September when several members of their team were attacked with various “marital aids” – including an inflatable sex doll and a large purple dildo – as the whole thing descended into complete and utter bedlam.
As we said at the time, the whole Sky Sports Deadline Day™ frenzy is a silly laddish thing that needed nipping in the bud before it really started getting out of hand.
After all, there’s always some moron out there devising new and ingenious ways to one-up the last moron.
