Sadly, Lampard’s quick-fire opener wasn’t enough to prevent NYCFC from going down 2-1 at the Robert F Kennedy Memorial Stadium, with late goals from Fabian Espindola and Alvaro Sarborio (in the 92nd minute, no less) resigning the boys from the Big Apple to defeat.
